Tenerife Job Training participa como socio en el Proyecto Europeo Erasmus + K2 “Minds into Matters”.

Project title: MINDS into MATTER – the “Book of Business” sustainable training tool in the tourism industry.
La empleabilidad y la innovación en el sector turístico fueron objeto de la pasada reunión mantenida en la localidad islandesa de Sandgerdi, perteneciente a la región de Reikjanes, entre varios socios de países miembros de la UE como Polonia, República Checa, Lituania, Estonia, Tenerife e Islandia, éste último en calidad de promotor del proyecto.
Minds into Matters es el nombre que lleva el presente proyecto europeo cuya idea principal está orientada en incrementar y potenciar las competencias de empleabilidad e innovación en el sector turístico, mediante un proceso que abarcará el próximo sexenio (2014-2020), auspiciado por los programas Europeos Erasmus + en el ámbito de la educación de adultos y la educación no formal.
Tenerife Job Training, como miembro participante estuvo en el mencionado encuentro y, aparte de llevarnos un entrañable recuerdo, pudimos diseñar un calendario de operatividad y planes de trabajo consensuado por todos los miembros para el horizonte 2016-2018, período en el que analizaremos, diseñaremos herramientas para empresas del sector consistentes en la elaboración de manuales de operaciones para la mejora de los procesos operativos tanto como la optimización y calidad de las diferentes áreas y departamentos. En este mismo orden de cosas el proyecto contempla la formación de la figura del mentor para que puedan llevar a cabo el seguimiento y control de los procesos a implementar.
La formación de mentores nos sitúa en un ámbito que Erasmus + está potenciando en su nueva etapa 2014-2020, la educación de adultos y la educación no formal. Bajo el lema “long life learning”, concebimos un elemento potenciador de la empleabilidad y profesionalidad en la empresa turística del siglo XXI. Cada país participante en este proyecto seleccionará una o 2 empresas turísticas locales para trabajar conjuntamente durante los dos años del proyecto, asignando un mentor para cada una de ellas. La formación del mentor es clave y objetivo fundamental del proyecto.
Durante todo la reunión inaugural en Islandia hemos vivido y trabajado durante cuatro días en un museo, The Sudurnes Science and Learning Center, un lugar singular y único que nos ha hecho sentir especiales en el pueblo de Sandgerdi, En la región de Reikjanes. Project title: MINDS into MATTER – the “Book of Business” sustainable training tool in the tourist industry
Iceland, Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Estonia and Tenerife will be working during 2 years to complete this project. The main idea of “Minds into Matters” is to strengthen key competencies and to increase the job ability in the fast growing field of tourism. We will discuss, analyze, design and try out a sustainable training tool for entrepreneurs, on line and easy to use, “The Book of Business”. At the same time we will work on adult education by training mentors. This training tool is to be seen as a life long learning process. This is a simple, smart way to use to increase skills and problem solving ability for tourism companies in Europe, with less formal education.
Every partner country in the project will choose a tourism company to work on its specific Book of Business and will select a mentor who will receive the training to acquire the skills required for this project. There is an obvious need for professional training to increase the competence, to secure the investment in the tourism industry and to strengthen the employability in the future. Furthermore the entrepreneurs need to be better prepared for tomorrow’s innovation in tourism.
At the beggining of October we all partners met in Iceland for the kick-off meeting, planning the first steps and agenda for the two intensive and interesting years to come. It was also the beggining of a friendship betwwen us the 6 participants countries. We enjoyed Iceland and its amazing landscapes. To me it was the first visit and I can tell your that the hospitality of the Icelandic people made us feel home from the minute one after arrival. We were living and working on the project at a local museum, The Sudurnes Science and Learning Center, a unique and inspiring place to stay in the wonderful village of Sandgerdi, Reikjanes region in Iceland. And of course I don’t want to forget about the amazing food at Vittin Restaurant ¡¡.
